Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
Browns spots, red spot, rosacea, and stubborn scars—any kind of discoloration to the face can leave our skin looking dull and aged. The IPL Facial resolves these issues using cutting edge technology and the skin’s own healing process. IPL may be used to treat the face, neck, hands and body.
The Alma HarmonyLITE IPL is a non-invasive device that uses multiple wavelengths of light to reduce the appearance of:
- Fine Lines
- Large Pores
- Sun Damage
- Broken Capillaries
What to Expect
After the treatment area is cleansed, a cool gel is applied to the skin. Eye protection is provided to protect your eyes from the light. Next, the IPL handpiece is gently placed on the skin and light pulses are applied. Clients may feel some stinging and warmth throughout the treatment and the skin is cooled as needed. The Alma HarmonyLITE is the only IPL platform that operates in both stationary and IN-Motion modes, assisting in client comfort. Treatment times will vary depending on the size of the area.
Generally, clients will experience optimal results after 3-5 treatments performed every 3-4 weeks. However, everyone’s skin is different, so the number of IPL treatments that your esthetician recommends for you will be customized to your needs. An exfoliating facial service or series of services may be recommended prior to your IPL treatments to enhance your results.
Immediately after treatment most clients will experience redness and warmth in the skin. This may last for a few hours or longer. Post treatment, clients may also feel slightly tight and dry. Some brown spots may appear darker before they flake off in about a week. Broken capillaries may blanch or change color before they improve.
